My Ride: Looking for a ride
![Question](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Hi all. I'm looking for a clean 2010 535i M-Sport right now. These are kinda hard to find in Cali from my research.
Anyway, will this engine hold up to a JB4 tune, DCI & meth kit without causing engine issues? I know a 2008 has the best engine for mods, but I want a turn key M-sport fully loaded without adding a bunch of work to 08 to that style (M-sport, HUD, I-Drive, etc…) Not looking for a race car, just a sleeper luxury car that rides well, quiet and move pretty darn good. Will the 2010 fit the bill or should I go with the 2008 with my wanted mods?
Any reason to go to a 2011? Are they nicer inside or outside at all? Thanks for the input. Damon from So Cal.

If you can swing a 2010 535i go for it. Chances are, it has a newer HPFP than the 2008 model so hopefully you won't get that issue. Also, it has a better chance of being a CPO (is it?) which would help if you get a HPFP issue. As far as tunes go, there's also Proceed, Cobb, ESS...

IIRC the 2010 model will have the CIC not CCC iDrive, so you can play and watch dvd's via idrive, from the factory you can only watch dvd's while P is engaged, but a local coder can fhelp change that and allow movies to play while driving....just another thing to consider...

So… The 2010 will support my listed mods without issue? I'm looking for luxury more than fast. What are the must have options? Thanks.

This car will absolutely support those mods. I held out for the 2010 Msport and I believe it was worth it. You say your looking for luxury over speed..I would consider holding off on those mods until you drive one a bit. These things are quick "as is".
Make sure you get the Navigation option. Nav will be the newer CIC Idrive that you see in the F10s, while Non-Nav will be the older basic CCC Idrive...My only regret on my e60.
