2008 Xdrive Mechtronics sleeve replacement
Hello All,
First time poster here. I'm in the process of replacing my mechatronics sleeve in my 2008 528xi. I have already removed the old sleeve from the transmission on the heat shield side, however I am having a really hard time getting the new sleeve between the transmission mount and the transmission without damaging it. Can anyone please offer some guidance. Do I need to remove the heatshield and trasmission mount? Thanks.

I got it figured out, I was able to put a pry bar between the trans mount and the transmission and was able to pry it over just enough to slip the new sleeve past the edge of the housing. It was a very tight fit, however it did end up going. Hopefully anyone else in the future that has this problem can use this solution to get their part up into place.

I just did mine on my 07 530xi. I dropped the heat sheild and then removed the 6 bolts holding the xfer case. I supported it with a jack and lowered it a little bit and had plenty of room to remove and replace. Good luck!
