2008 E60 520D - Light Switch or LCM *HELP*
Hey guys !
After two error codes, I would like to know exactly what they mean. In my opinion, would the light switch be bad based on these DTCs? I tried to find out, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere.
Two codes I got from ISTA+:
009CB0 LM: Light switch faulty (position 2)
009CAF LM: Light switch faulty (position 1)
In fact, about the problem:
When the engine is running so the car is started then the light switch does not respond at all wherever I turn the switch the car automatically turns on the headlight. However, when I stop the car or the engine is not running, the light switch works in 2 positions, but still not properly. It actually turns on a park light in both positions. If I lock the car, it happens quite often lately that the angel’s eyes are flashing or the xenons stay on, it usually helps to disconnect the cables from the LCM.I pulled all the modules off the car (BCM, etc.) But still this is the problem. It only stops when I pull down the LCM, but that's understandable so I can conclude that the problem may be somewhere around the LCM and light switch. I tested it before with another LCM and light switch, but it did the same. I'm completely clueless. Could it be that what I tested LCM or light switch earlier would not have been good?
If anyone has had a similar problem or knows what the solution is please let me know.
