Bingo. That's why i said the OP needs someone who knows what they are doing. I'm sure the next Indy will know what to do. A simple default code would take care of that

A vin change and factory code (VO) is all you should need to get it back going.

There is a tool called NCS Expert that can modify settings/parameters inside the modules in our BMWs. In addition, a few modules keep track of the VO (Vehicle Order) which is a set of option codes specifying which features your vehicle has. When you install a module from another car it is most-likely not configured correctly for your vehicle. When this happens, you can tell a module to read your car's VO to reset itself to factory settings for the options your vehicle came with. I'm not going super into detail here, but here is a link to a PDF that gives the rundown. If you haven't used NCS Expert before then it can be a lot to learn and I recommend finding someone who knows how to do it. I spent quite a bit of time researching and figuring this out before I started retrofitting and customizing things on my cars.
