2008 BMW 550i Sport Headlight

My Ride: 2013 BMW 550i M-Sport
OK the other day my passenger turn signal stopped working so yea I changed the bulb with a new one and no go.
My question is what gives?
What could be the issue or how to fix it without having to buy a $2000 replacement!! 
I can take it to a dealer (inde) which will have to do a diagnostic evaluation $169 then they said there could be two options... 1: We can take out the headlight and it may just need a simple rewire and that's about $200-$300 or we have to replace the whole assembly for $2,000. :thumbsdown:
Should I even bother having it looked at or just look around for a HID Adaptive Control Passenger Side Headlight to replace the now defective one?
