..but seriously, the 172's cannot be considered bling - one of the classiest BMW wheels around..

Not today, its raining. I won't be in the new ride until late June. I know you have the wheels. Maybe I will get used to them. See ya.

Amen, brother. Made me very glad to get the pre-facelifted sport rims.

You have to see it in person IMO. There was a one at the dealer near me last weekend and it looked pretty good. Get 166's I am sure you'll be able to move the 172's pretty quick!

BTW, how many miles on the 545? How has your experience these last couple of years changed what you ordered, if anything?

Cheers,

35K on the 545i. I have had my moments, mainly with the fit finish and rattles. Right now she has CIP 25 and 35psi all around and fresh Oil. Running like a dream.

The gripes are all cured with the 2008 550i. Softer seats, better interior finish.

I have to agree. Went to the BMW dealer to see a 2008 550i sport titanium silver, which is a match for the car I have on order. The rims look a little better in person to me than in pics, but just don't make it in my opinion. There is something too spydery about them for me. I plan on changing to the current M5 rims. From what I can tell, the 2008 M5 kept the same rims as 2007. I am assuming they are a direct bolt on replacement for the 172s.

Exactly my sentiments. The M5 wheels look like a bloom in comparison. The 172s look OK on grey cars, but on Carbon black, I still cannot get used to them.
