Hi All,
I am new to the forum and was looking for advice on the 550i. I am currently looking at buying either a CPO 2008 550i or a 2009 550i. I am seeing some really good deals out there on some CPO 08's. From what I have been able to tell the biggest difference between the 08 and 09 is the improved I-drive on the 09. Are there any other real advantages that the 09 has over the 08? Is the I-drive in the 09 worth spending the extra money over a CPO 08?
Thanks,
Dave

I have a 2009 550 and love it. The 2009 iDrive on the E60 has the improved knob and all of the new buttons -- but still has the electronics/guts of the old iDrive, including the DVD-based nav and the slow processing speed. The E60 got the new electronics/internals for the iDrive (most significantly, a hard drive-based system) in the 2010 model year.
