I see lots of posts on idle speed jumping around. Here is my car at a light in "D" with the A/C off. Well it would not let me upload the video. Sorry, it shows rock solid at 500 rpm. 750 with the A/C on.

I'm glad you guys aren't experiencing this problem but, can anyone chime in with some suggestions? I have a 2009 550i 52,190 miles and sometimes it runs fine but other times it idles crazy, it goes up & down around 500rpm slightly under than jumps back up. Imagine my embarrassment at the red light, the car is shaking and trembling like a supped up muscle car. It's supposed to be the ultimate driving machine
but my dads Camry with 185,000 runs smooth as silk . Few weeks ago I took it to motorcepts and they changed 2 coils and all the plugs
it got better but the idling problem continues. Also no check engine light appears, does anyone have any suggestions where to begin? It's confusing cause when I start it with the AC on and if I shut off the AC after 10 min or so it's fine. But most of the time it's idles abnormal.

I just replaced two coils but my problem was on the high end and never at idle. 87,000 miles.

Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor? Try unplugging it and see if the car runs better. If it does, the sensor is either bad or dirty. Part #4 in the diagram below...

My 2005 545i usually has an uneven idle (sometimes) in the winter, though not as much now (at over 100k) vs when the car was younger. And when the season is warmer, idle is 500 without A/C and 750 with, dead on, no variation.
