I don't have auto-fold mirrors, they are push button manual.

If I correctly remember auto-fold mirrors are only available with seat with memory.

Not true on a U.S. spec car. I have seat memory.

You are correct, I remember that I read somewhere in the forum that in US auto-folding mirrors are not allowed.
Here in Italy (may be Europe too) auto-folding mirrors are only available with memory seat.

2008 US models HAVE "auto"-fold mirrors -- "auto" being with the push of a button. Has anyone picked up a recent 2008 model, and is this a customizable feature on IDrive? I pick up mine on Saturday (whooHoo!) -- worst part it's sitting at the dealership and I'm stuck in London until Friday.... the wait is agonizing!

I have it, and it is still "auto by push of button". I haven't seen any options in the IDrive to customize it. Also, don't think it can be hooked upto the "car lock/unlock", which would have been cool.

So since I'm not picking up my car until Saturday, I asked my CA if this was a dealer-set option, and if there were any other ones. He confirmed that yes, this WAS customizable by the BMW center, and not an I-Drive option, so mine will be set. He indicated that there are no other options (that he is aware of) that are only set by the dealerhip.

He did thank me for teaching him something new (again).

That's right -- the list, as with so much else with our software driven cars, might be a bit outdated. Overall though, I think it gives people a good idea of the types of hidden settings that are out there.

One thing that's changed for sure is the daytime running light setting. On the new model cars, we're now able to activate or deactivate the DRLs by ourselves. Some countries still may not allow this due to governmental regulations but in the USA, it's now an available setting in iDrive. The funny part about that is that before the LCI, I always made sure the dealer didn't activate the DRLs since I thought they detracted from the look of the car and I wanted to have more control over what was lit, etc. Now, they gave me the control I was looking for but the DRLs look so darn great now that I leave them on all the time!
+1! I noticed them on an LCI in Boston the other day. I have to say my pre-LCI DRLs look pretty shabby in comparison.

Can't see the logic why "full-auto" folding mirrors are not allowed in US. I like the idea to have the mirrors fold on lock and unfold when you start the engine.
Cause, the other day I folded my mirrors due to tight parking space and was in the hurry out, low and behold I forgot to unfold them, kinda hassle.

Was curious about this. My manual describes how the mirrors will unfold automatically at 25 mph, if left in the folded position. Did this not work for you? I have yet to try it, but as we all know, just because it's in the manual doesn't mean it's part of our cars!

They do unfold automatically -- I think it's about 23mph but I could be mistaken. I think it's around the same mph that PDC automatically turns off and the doors automatically lock (if you have that set up...)
