I just bought a 08 535xi with 70k miles with no background info or maintenance history (from auction) and after getting it started and driving around I notice the suspension seems soft with excessive travel. When going over sharp bumps or sharp irregularities in the roads (plentiful here in Chicago) it absorbs them all very well but deep dips in the road seems to cause the suspension to seem to bottom out. Is this normal or do you think that this one has aftermarket mods? Or do these have some sort of factory air suspension or electronic adjustable suspension?

I could definitely have lowering springs (which should not be paired with stock struts), therefore bottoming out on deep holes etc..

Xi's are usually very high looking and have huge wheel gap. Post a pic?
