Just picked up a new 2008 535i, great so far. Has anyone hooked up an aftermarket XM radio receiver? If so, how did you hook it up? Did you attach it to the AUX input, through FM, or another way. Also, where did you attach the display screen on the dash? I had XM in my old 530i, and really miss it.

Thanks!

imo- wait a while until the merger is complete- then you should be able to get a sirius/xm module installed.

anyone know if XM is available in Europe? When I was home in May my mom had an XM in her Acadia...I was hooked directly...last time I looked there were no services for Europe yet...

From what I understand, you won't need any new hardware. You won't be able to get the full list from each without a new receiver, however a limited channel list from XM will be available.

As long as I can get O&A I'll be happy.

I have my XM Roady XT hooked up through the AUX input and the sound is good although significantly lower volume than the other audio sources. I have researched mounting the Roady and the only off the shelf solution is a Panavise mount made for the E60. This would position the radio on the passenger side near shifter. I am testing the antenna positioning, so right now the antenna is just sitting on the rear parcel shelf. In the NYC Metro area this seems to work reasonably well.

I am also interested to know what other E60 owners have done with their XM radios (who don't have the factory installed solution).

correct, but if he's looking for a particular XM channel he'll have to wait.

me, I can't stand Lithium but I love Lucy. I hope that one is available so I don't have to fork out $400 for a new receiver.
