2008 528xi N52 Surging Idle
Hello All,
Looking for a little help. Last week I was driving down the road and randomly my car went into limp mode, had the reduced power notification. I was trying to get it into a parking lot and then the DSC 4x4 and DBC errors all popped up. I was able to get it to a garage (non bmw) and they had no clue what was wrong with it. I got it home and checked the codes with INPA . When I got the car home the battery was totally dead and was in limp mode and surging up and down at idle and in gear, no throttle response. I assumed the battery was causing my issues so I replaced it but it did not fix anything. I did also have codes for the eccentric shaft sensor which I replaced because I had a leaking valve cover gasket and figured id swap it when I was in there. After doing the new sensor and clearing all the codes the car started up and ran perfectly fine for about 2 minutes then started surging at idle and still in limp mode.
I also have a relay in the E box under the hood next to the dme that is constantly buzzing, I think its the dme relay but not sure. Looking for a little help, codes from inpa are attached I have currently, a few are just from sensors being unplugged to get the valve cover off my main concern are the DME codes.
Any help is appreciated.
DME code 2CFA and 2D09

If you have low battery and / or charging issues, your car is going be throwing lots of irrelevant codes. I'd suggest diagnosing that first.
