This afternoon, while locating a car for a customer, I noticed that BMW has uploaded the Options for 2008 US 5 Series Cars.

The Models are: 528i/xi, 535i/xi and M5....SO FAR, a 550i will be added as well as a sport wagon later on, however I do not know if the sport wagon will be called the 535xiT.

The New Options are:

2TB - Sport Automatic Transmission - This could replace the SMG setup...

4BY - Bamboo Wood Trim - On the current E70 X5

5AD - Lane Departure Warning System - Similar to what is on the Volvo XC90 and the new Volvo S80

6FL - iPod/USB Adapter - Factory Installed Now?

I do not anything yet about package updates, such as if the Premium Package has added Power Folding Mirrors or a Compass in the Rear View Mirror. I should know in a week or so, hopefully.

Cream Beige has replaced Beige Interior. Cream Beige is now on the 3 Series Coupe and 6 Series.

New Exterior Colors are: Plantium Gray Metallic and Deep Sea Blue (Similar to Bluewater from the E39 probably).

M5 Updates:

248 - Heated Steering Wheel - $150.00

323 - Soft Close Doors - I'll believe when I can order it! haha

6FL - iPod/USB Adapter - Factory Installed Now?

I have no information on new M colors, both exterior or interior. I DO believe that the M5 will recieve the facelift. When the E39 M5 first came out, it last 2 or 3 years and then the E39 facelift came out and made its way onto the M5. So get ready!!!

PLEASE NOTE: Everything can change!!! So do not call your dealer and say that I would like this option or this new color. BMW was suppose to add Rear Entertainment with the E60 first came out and that NEVER happened. Just FYI....I will post more information when I get it! Bye Bye

I wonder where this one will fall? Between silver gray and titanium gray?

BMW1986, did the guide mention when the cars might be available? And thanks for the post!

I have NO IDEA what sport automatic transmission is. We should recieve March allocation in 2 weeks, almost the last week in January.

Thanks for posting the info!

I wonder if the Sport Automatic is the DSG-type box that's supposed to be coming out?

For those who are curious here's a pic of Bamboo in the new X5 (E70). I haven't seen it in reality but have always thought it looks a bit cheap in the photos I've seen...

Another example of plastics technology gone mad.
