Just got my first BMW. I have some newbie question. I hope someone can help me out here.

I was reading the owner's manual. In the section about interior rearview mirror, it states:

"To reduce the dazzle effect of following vehicles at night, turn the knob."

In the illustration, they have an arrow pointing to the knob looking thing that flashes constantly after the user activates the alarm. I tried to turn the knob. It doesn't move. Does the knob really turn? How do I use this feature?

thanks!

That depends on whether you have a manually controlled mirror.

If it doesn't turn, that is a good hint, namely that it's automatic and will change at night.

Please list your car + options in your signature. Also list you location under your avatar... This way we'll know what you have and can better answer your questions. Cars from different countries have different things as standard...

Like JS said... it depends if you have auto dimming mirrors. So if you have your car listed we'll know if you do or not.
