Hi

I am in the UK, and here we call the model year by the calendar year. So a car manufactured in 2006 is a 2006 car. Apparantely this is not the same in the US as people here in the forum speak about the 2007 model and we are still in November.

I also read someone writing about his 530i 2007 model manufactured in May 2006

Would someone please clarify this for me.

Thanks

You can always buy a monthly magazine at least one month before its cover date.

In US probably two months!

whenever ive been in the usa, tv ads for cars ALWAYS seem to refer to the car as being the next years model.

Im guessing the 2008 model will be out in january.

cheers

we do things efficiently over here - if you guys want to wait a whole year to get your 2008 that's OK. We'll search through them now and pick out all of the good ones with the steering wheel on the right side of the car (and by right, we mean left- lol!)!!

MY change is allways September.

But in the US, for some strange reasons, BMW NA makes different decisions on the MY designation.
The "real" MY change is in September every year.

The REAL MY 07 model year for the US market began in March of 2007.

But this has been rehashed a thousand times on here.
