2007 BMW 550 Vacuum Pump Question
Hello just got my new Vacuum Pump from Pelican. Pulled the old one out... had oil in it, enough that when I turned the pump oil squrited out of the vent... is that normal?? I open the unit and it has oil still in it but not alott.. Iread oil is supposed to be in the pump... ok but was that to much and where is it coming from ?
the oil was motor oil? I am assuming the pump will self oil and i dont have to worry about adding any oil to lude it right ??
Also I have issues getting it in slot in the motor any tricks for that
thanks inadvance

I just replaced the seals (gaskets) in my vacuum pump a couple weeks ago. Did notice oil inside but didn’t try to spin pump so didn’t notice any coming out the vent.
To get the pump back on easy I used a 24mm socket and breaker bar to turn the crank slowly to line up the pump and slot inside the hole. Took some time to get it in but not bad.
I do recommend changing the oil pressure switch right below the vacuum pump at the same time. Way easier to do with vacuum pump off. Mine was leaking oil so I did them both.
