2007 550i automatic tranny problem????

This was posted at b*mmerfest and i have the same problems with my 2006. Does anyone know what the issue is and the solution? Thanks
"Hi i have a 2007 550i, it currently has 82000km's and is automatic...Recently i noticed that when i accelerate on what i believe is 2nd gear at around 2-3000rpm i hear a rumbling (almost grinding) noise that is accompanied by a lag in power but when i accelerate further it slowly comes out of this lag and continues normally...its a pretty consistent thing now that i have noticed it...Does anyone have any clue as to what this might be??? im a little worried as it has come off its 80,000km warranty and im not sure if the trans is covered past this warranty.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
Might be the electronics in your transmission.

Could be torque converter, 6 speed auto?
Item #2 torque converter
Same gearbox as my 03 530d and mine is pretty poor at the moment, booked in to be replaced and service
GB next week. It started slamming gears a little at first, and then I ran it a bit hard and it has deteriorated pretty rapidly, get it fixed before you get stranded.
I quite quickly noticed an increase in fuel consumption.

I have the same problem and would like to know the solution as well.
