I have ordered a 2007 550, and am wondering about the "slam" issues with the Steptronic.
My 2005 530 has never had a problem with the Step "slam".
Is this still an ongoing problem or has BMW improved the operation of the transmission.
I have not noticed alot of posts concerning this on later 550's. Sorry to beat a dead horse.
Thanks, jetmech.

No issues with slamming, the question is with downshifting which I questioned because it appears to be a little rough. I'm sure it's me being picky, my 07, 550i is by far the best car I have ever owned, there isn't another car on the road in my budget close to this car. 7,500 miles and still grinning.

No slam issues here; however, I was just flashed the other day as I was gong down the road here in Germany. I guess the ticket will be in the mail soon. Didn't feel like I was going fast at all. The speed in this car is deceptive and I like it.
