That is not good advice as you did not clarify why you want an intake. By far, the best thing an open intake/CAI does is give you a very aggrssive, oloud sound that IMO sounds awesome! The downside is that you lose performance and horsepower.
The problem with the 07 530 (which is what I have) is it has JUST enough hp at 260hp to realy be a true enjoyable quick sport sedan. YOu really dont have much room to lose performance IMO. However it is still only 10-15 hp loss and not going to be a HUGE difference unless you really are into that kind of stuff.
If you want an awesome sound (I had the afe intake for 2 years on my car-I took it off and replaced with a BMS/KN filter and an RPI scoop) then get an AFE intake system-they run a few hundred bucks. It is WELL worth it for a great sound.
If you wantn to maintain performance and add a bit of performance like 3 or 4 horsepower and a bit of a smoother operating/revving engine, then go with the RPI scoop and replacement air filter. This will add ZERO sound however and honestly the performance increase is not noticable to much degree but the benefits are there. Atleast you wont lose horsepower, and this is even more the case in warm weather, which is another factor. The warmer the weather, the more horsepower you will LOSE with an open afe intake as more warm air gets sucked into your car.
So if you consider all that-you can choose. There is no right way to go-it depends on your objective. By the way I LOVED the sound of my afe intake and if I had not sold it I would be tempted
