My Ride: 2007 530xi
Hello everyone I am new to this forum. I recently got a BMW 2007 530xi pre-LCI. I used to have a 2001 325i which I have done some DIY type stuff on. My 530xi did not come with navigation and I would like to put the CCC oem one in. I have tried searching around to find information on what I need. My question is can I buy something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-PROFESSI...671ce9&vxp=mtr and I will be good? I know I need the trim piece, and the navigation DVD, and Im not sure if this kit comes with a GPS antenna. Would I need anything else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I attached a picture of my dash.

I'm selling the CCC & screen https://5series.net/forums/topic/123...gation-system/
I also have the trim and idrive controller with split controller available for sale.
Your CCC will also need to be coded and you will need a fan harness for the CCC.

Hello trippster, you should not buy the Ebay unit. It's from a 2008+ car which means it has a different faceplate (with buttons) which won't fit your car. To make it fit, you will have to also replace the entire trim around it, and if you change the trim, you will need to buy new buttons and new controls for the AC ducts.
It is easier to buy a CCC unit from a 2003-2007 car. That case you just need to replace a small trim piece that goes around the DVD slot.
Retrofitting otherwise is pretty simple. Just buy a GPS antenna.
PS: I would definitely buy Nelson's unit if I were you.

Yup, when you get to it, I can help you with the fan harness. Its easy and you need to tap into two wires or buy a separate cable (tonyb635 can help, worth the hassle).

Left you a msg. Part number 61120396722 is available in Europe through BMW but you can't get it here in the US. Maybe you will have some luck where you are. If not, I have everything and can put one together since when I made mine I had to buy the connectors in a bag and the dealer wouldn't sell me just the two I needed.

Welcome ... always nice to have another xi'er on the forum.
However, if I were in your position - and I like the nav in my '07 - I'd invest in a new Garmin or similar nav system and use the money for other mods, repairs and maintenance. Even with the newest map DVD I often run my smartphone googlemap nav simultaneously just to be sure to get where I'm going!
Always your choice = just offering my opinion.
