I knew that 550i took alittle more gas than the 545i. I feel alittle better.
Those MPG rates are so out dated it's disguising. A coupe of weeks back, NPR did a segment on MPG ratings. The tested highways going 48 mph. In a ten city block, the idle time was a maximum of 5 minutes. That was back in 1948!!!
Only grandma drives like that now. Grandpa got a S2000 and zipping along. So as one linguistist would say, "Those numbers are may be accurate, but they are not precise." In others, accurate in the sense that that's what we are getting, not precise in the sense that the whole rating is outdated.
However flawed they may be, the numbers for my car jive almost exactly with my calculated figures since I purchased it. (Combined number) There is a feedback mechanism to allow you to enter your own data so that people who look there can see real-world numbers. If you have data to add, please do so since it will help give the correct picture.

Is one of the SMG? I cant figure out how they are naming it... theres teh triditonal manual 6 speed and then theres two 6 speed auto!
But one has lower mpg so I assuem thats the SMG...
545 16 24
550 16 22
Eh... I'll give up 2 mpg for 30 more hp...
BUT is there GGT now for the 550 SMG / 6 speed for sure?
