Hey everyone!

So my MP3 playing can be tempermental. Some MP3s play some will show the song data and 00:00 for a couple seconds then not play. This seems random too meaning some songs on an album will play but not others. I have ruled out naming, size, and bitrate. Anyone have this same issue? Thanks!

And I also have tried to burn another disc with the same song and no dice.

And the first post is a bit misleading. To be more clear, an MP3 will either play or will not. I can not find anything about the MP3 files that will not play which points to root cause.

Yes, but only on dual layer DL DVD. I've tried buring 3 brands of +r and -r media on two different burners. At best, I can play around 80% of the songs. In addition to the problem you described, with DL media the song list is generally two long for the memory that is in the car.

Back to your problem. Could it be related to DMR? Make sure you have the DMR option turned off when you rip your music.

Here's an interesting idea: Why not put the same song into a dozen folders and burn it to disc, just to see if ANY of them play?

Also: I burn my single layer DVDs at 2x speed. I don't have any problems with my current single layer DVD-R discs.

Cheers

v.

Thanks V!

Good point on the DMR, the media I am using is not ripped by me but I will look to strip that if possible. Thank you again!

I got Sound Taxi and all tracks that did not play previously are now all good!

BTW Sound Taxi is simply a recording program that will re-record your files to a common format.

And I switched over to Joliet file system with success for the burn. Thanks again!
