[quote name='Iceman' date='May 31 2005, 03:20 PM']There is the standard steering wheel, the heated satndard steering wheel, the sports steering wheel, the heated sports steering wheel and the M steering wheel.
If a steering wheel is heated it is a little thicker. Also the sports steering wheel is thicker than the regular/standard steering wheel. M steering wheel is about the same size as the sports steering wheel.
If you have SMG you have the sports steering wheel, with M-tech bodykit you have the M steering wheel and AFAIK you get the sports steering wheel with the US sports package too.

The sports steering wheel has a round middle/airbag and its diameter is smaller.

No, US spec sports package is the standard wheel, heated/non-heated depending on presence of cold weather pkg. Only SMG gets round airbag and thumb notches in US.

See at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock there are little thumb grips that pop out into the steering wheel... I love them. I have them on the MINI.

See here is a 545i SMG w/sport package wheel looks similiar but no thumb grips.

MINI Cooper S Thumb Grips.

Oh I see....yeah I love thumb notches too then! That's just plain wrong that we can't get thumb notches in the USA then.
