Keyless start?!?? Oh dang! Will it be like Mercedes Keyless go? or is it like the 7er? If its the 7er then forget it... if Mercedes then

I just spoke to a salesman who notified me that they are now taking orders for the 2006 530xi (May production, June delivery).

WHile he didn't yet have the exact figures yet, the increase in price (for the non-xi) will be smaller than it was between 2004 and 2005.

He said for the 2006 530xi, they are offering MSRP - $2000. Another dealer I spoke to said he doubted they'd discount the 530xi's much at all since they will be in high demand...)

My question: is the offer of MSRP - $2K a "good" deal for this car?? (I know there is always room for some negotiation, but just curious if they are starting out relatively? "aggressively"...)

Thanks!

So, for Part Two of this saga. I discussed this "offer" with my preferred dealer (closer to home) and he initially said they'd match any offer I got in writing. Subsequently, he started questioning the the motives of the other dealer, saying that according to what he knows, the car ISN'T orderable yet and dealers dont yet know what their alottments will be for the new cars...so he's telling me this other guy is just trying to get me into their showroom and is actually unable to promise me anything at this point.

Jeez....maybe I'll just buy a Saturn. I just HATE all this obfuscation and game playing...

Saturns play the same game... differenece is you cant order them and you'll negotiate ones on the floor.
