Hey everyone, just wondering if I should hold on to my e60 530i with sport package? i am creeping up on 100k and I am afraid of potential big ticket repairs on the car. I have heard many stories good and bad about the e60 and how some models are more reliable than others. Just curious if there are any known issues that may be costly on this particular model? I have heard that the 530i 2004-2005 (m54 engine) is more reliable than the 06-07 (N52) engine. So many folk tales out there, just curious if you have an facts? any advise would be great

Are you still making payments on the car?
It's easier to afford the out-of-warranty repairs if you don't have to pay a monthly note.

I'd say the same thing as #pcy If you took care of your car, then it will take care of you! Every driver should feel the car; every scratch every noise, and every problem.
100K is nothing for a BMW, however we are afraid of that number.

I've always had BMWs w/over 100k, except for 1 (my M3).. I am a huge fan of the I6 engines. Have plenty of faith in them past 100k.
OP is your car auto, or manual? Even autos are pretty good w/the I6, but I still prefer manual.

I have put almost 60k of the miles on the car my self and I have maintained her regularly. All though i don't warm up the car much in the morning maybe for like 1-2 min a few times a week on work days not sure if that is an issue though?? other than that all is good.
