2006 525i question

Okay, this E60 I'm going to buy is a Sport + Premium package. What I'm wondering is because it's a Premium Package will it have the comfort access option? It has the newer brick key, fyi.

If the premium package includes comfort access (which i doubt it will), then you will get the brick key. Comfort access is an additional option

My 06 525i has the premium package but no confort access. It also has a regular old fashion key. I think the "brick key" came out in 07.

From what I remember, the 2006 models were the first year of the brick key. My fiancee's mom had a 2006 and it had the brick key.

It probably doesn't have the comfort access feature, but there is still a way to run your car without the key:
Start car normally
Push stop button, remove key, do NOT open the door
Push Start button again within 10 seconds...your car will start without the key
Perfect for warming up the car, running in somewhere while keeping the engine running and the car locked.
Glad to see you are thinking about buying a 525 with premium/sport, it's an amazing car, no need for the 530 IMHO

Comfort Access is a separate option and has never come w/ the premium package... So, unfortunately... You will need to plug the brick key into the slot and use the start engine button.
I have to admit it annoys me that CA is an option... I mean some of my friends who have much cheaper Japanese cars get this feature standard with their cars... but then again, they have boring cars... So I guess its a trade off.
