Has anyone in the UK recently bought the 2006-2 Professional Navigation DVD? Does it have the full post code search.

Won't the full postcode search be a function of the software?

My April 2006 E60 came with the 2006-02 DVD - whilst the manual which came with the car states that postcode entry is possible it doesn't seem to have been implemented - the word recognition side of the input sequence doesn't allow postcodes to be entered - unless I am doing something wrong of course!!

never tried voice input before but using the IDrive to enter a postcode certainly works. But not sure what is meant here by " the full post code search"

My 05-2005 build E61 with 2006-01 DVD allows postcode input up to level 5.

It will be interesting if you can check if the 2006-2 disc extends to level 7?

When selecting the destination simply dial in the postcode rather than the street name.

Bug$er! I've just tried postcode entry on my 2006-2 and it doesn't work, I don't even get the option. Switch back to my 2005-1 and it works as expected.

One clue maybe when I swap between from my 2005-1 to 2006-2 and vice-versa the NAV displays the message

"New DVD Version. Please shutdown and restart system after 5 minutes"

I'm on CIP 17, I wonder if I need a newer CIP to take advantage of a 2006-2 ?

I have a 2004-2 DVD and now a 2006-1 DVD in my Nav Sat Pro, and I can do post code search on both of them.

Regards

I need the full 7 char post code search and not the 5 char one as available.

I should say I am a total newbie when it comes to BMW's Sat Nav Pro but when I get to the destination entry stage and try to enter a postcode, after entering the initial letter, the word recognition feature restricts the range of second characters I can insert hence precluding postcode entry.

Is that what you found with 2006-02?
