If no one calls in, BMW Assist is useless. My insurance company gave me zero credit for carrying BMW Assist. It's as useless as tits on a boar in the USA.

JDN, that has changed. BMW Assist can now locate the vehicle in case it's been stolen.

Thanks, Ice. Didn't realize that. Wasn't the case when I canceled. Probably won't sign up anyway. I don't need the concierge services. Gotta take a few risks.

JDN, not that it really matters since it's unlikely that you'll renew, but I had extensive conversations w/ BMWNA about this as they hounded me to renew Assist. For early car like ours (mine is a Jan 2004 build), the tracking will never be available. I was told (which means I'm likely wrong! ) that inorder to have the tracking ability that could be initiated by BMW and not from inside the car, they started using a new module and that unless we had that retrofitted (don't know cost) we early adopters would never be able to use BMW Assist to track our cars in case of theft.

Thanks, kcs. That squares it away, for certain.
