The only problem with BMW Assist is, any thief who is good enough, so that he can steal an E60, knows about BMW Assist... And he knows how to disable it...
Besides, BMW Assist can only locate your car if BMW Assist is activated. If no one calls in, BMW Assist is useless. My insurance company gave me zero credit for carrying BMW Assist. It's as useless as tits on a boar in the USA.

Very simple way to steal anycar, aquire 4 moving dollys, and a jack and place a dolly under each wheel, then push the car inquestion anywhere you want, but keep in mind a dolly does not have brakes so do not attempt on slated pavements.
Well, now I feel better...I faxed the BMW assist car recovery document to my insurance agent, and they were embarrassed to tell me it would reduce my premium by $5.40...hey, but that's every 6 months!

If you lift a wheel for placing a dolly, wouldn't the tilt alarm go off?
Thanks, Ice. Didn't realize that. Wasn't the case when I canceled. Probably won't sign up anyway. I don't need the concierge services. Gotta take a few risks.

I have read that bad guys have some gadget for VW:s to by pass anti theft system. Estonian police has found these from bad guys.
Rumor is that there is one for BMWs but police has not seen those yet.
