My 2005 545i (SMG) just indicated a service engine light and I took it to the dealer for a diagnosis. I was told that the thermostat and the DISA valve have gone bad and need replacing. My current mileage is about 66K. The battery was replaced last year, otherwise, the car has been good.

Any advice on what other repairs I should consider while the guts are partially open? The repairs will be done by the dealer.
