My Ride: 2005 545i with everything
The selling price is just the entry fee on a car with that many miles. Remember that parts wear based largely on miles, not years. You're essentially driving a 12 year old car and expect the maintenance and repair costs to reflect it.

Either way, at the price that's offered it's a steal!

I should be getting a test drive of the car this weekend, so I'll find out about the service history and what options it actually has. It has been used for mainly motorway miles.
Again Thanks for the help and information.

I will take it if you don't want it, seriously!!
My late 2003 530d is on 125000 now, and is still superb. No squeaks or rattles, mechanically fine. And that one has some nice options - I've only got the business nav and no bluetooth - would love pro. I paid ?14k for mine last May with 108000 on it. You really are getting a steal, assuming no MAJOR mechanical problems.

My Ride: 535d Sport Saloon / Carbon Black / E-maps re-map / 20" Vortex R alloys - carbon black / Pro-Nav / Vis pack / heated leather / enough for now /
Think that p/x represents a v low bid from a BMW dealer - they'll pass it straight to an auction, as very few resell cars with over 60-75k on them.
- Which means its a potential bargain for you. If you've (or F-in-law) has a good relationship with the dealer they'll probably do a you an AUC check & report for ?50-100 - better IMO than the AA/RAC equivalent. You might even get them to check the Glasses prices for you while they're at it. Especially if they get a new 535 sale out of it.
That price leaves plenty of margin for replacing a few bits (or mods )
-have a drive, see what the report reveals.

It's good to hear that these cars are doing 125+miles without major problems

Make sure you get some sort of extended warranty, at warrantydirect or similar. Shouldn't cost more than a few hundred quid. The first thing to go will most likely be the turbo. That can go two ways; the parts get flung into the engine or they are not. If they are, you are looking at thousands of pounds in repairs.
apart from that, I'd say go for it.

I finally managed to test drive the car this weekend (for 125 miles of city, A roads and motorway) and all I can say is, WOW. The car drives fantastically well and the acceleration from 60-90+ was fast and smooth, professional sat nav with TMC is a great tool.
Does any one know what wheels it would have come with as standard (122 or 138).
