My Ride: 2004 545i Silver Grey Premium Package, Sport Package, Dynamic Driving Package
So I am looking at a 2004 545i and realized that with a 2004 545i vs a 2005 one, I will be missing some features. One of these notable features is Bluetooth, and another is MP3 capability. What else am I going to miss? Now what am I getting that is not available on the 2005? (I suspect none)

Thanks for the response. So are the 04 a lot more problematic than the 05? I don't disagree with you about first year model but given the car was in production since as early as June or July of 2003 would a Oct build be ok? And more importantly, since we are talking a used car, hopefully, the last owner has resolved all the problems, do you still think an 05 is a better buy?

I think that the 04 and 05 both have their fair share of problems. Is the 04 you're looking at CPO?

Yes it is a CPO. The 2004 has sport pkg, dynamic pkg and premium pkg and the 2005 only has premium pkg. And the 2004 is about $150 CDN ($142 USD) a month cheaper on a 36 mth lease.
In Canada, the dynamic driving pkg contains ARS and Active Steering; the Sport pkg has sport suspension and 18" wheels; the premium pkg has Through Load w/ski bag, Audiophile Sound System w/ DSP, Comfort Seats, Heated Seats Rear, and Park Distance Control
When did Bluetooth become available?

Yeah, that's what I thought. The 2004 has 40,300 miles or 65,000 km and the 2005 has 22,000 miles or 35,000 km. The 2004 comes with 2.5 yrs of warranty (including the CPO warranty) and the 2005 comes with 4 yrs of warranty (including CPO warranty) I am only leasing for 3 yrs. Should I worry about the 6 mths gap in warranty? I drive about 6,500 miles a year

I would go with the 04 for the sports pkg. Though being a first run e60, I am sure that you will be able to work out any remaining "bugs". I would not worry at all about the 6 mo gap in CPO coverage. When you get close to the end of your coverage, have everything documented that may be going sour; they'll be covered after the CPO ends.
Quick ?: any diff in transmission?
