I have a 2004 545I with 9000 miles and on Wednesday I heard a loud noise from the transmission. The noise went way and I thought that it was a one time occurence. Then, on Saturday the car started to rev up by it's self. I jammed it in to Park ( I know that was probably stupid and a good way to blow the motor) and it revved up to 6000 rpm and then went back to idle. I ran it into the dealers and they did a quick computer check for codes and of course there were none. Any ideas??? As this could be very dangerous. Thanks

this is probably not your issue...but i know for me i had those heavy duty weather mats in my car and it shifted towards the accelerator and made my engine rev pretty high.. problem resolved..i hope your is as simple as that....good luck ericd
