Default 2004 545i 145k

Im looking at buying a 2004 545i with 145k on the clock... tell me what things i should look for on this car and what maintenance should be performed immediately??? What are the known problems for this car?

Save your money and look at other options, unless you're able to do the work yourself.

I agree, if you are not DIY person, stay away. Even then it could be thousands in parts alone. At 145k, just about every seal in the car is leaking and these cars are not easy to work on at all.

I agree with these gentlemen , to a certain extent . Depends on how well the car was cared for by the previous owner . If it has been a well maintained car and has service records of all worked performed it might not be a bad choice .

But if not and has not been kept up , possibly not a good choice , if you're not handy with a wrench . If you're a diy'er the cost of owner ship and maintaining a 545 is not expensive to own . If you're handy with a wrench you can take care of all the possible and typical leaks for under 1000 dollars and have money left over .
