Default 2004 530i - RPM Surging/Stalling Issue

What's up mates,

So my M54 ZHP engine is having issues currently. It's been about a month since it started working properly. It all started when I was on my way to a job 2 hours away. My car's RPM started surging massively jumping 1k at a time up and down, and then it just lost all power and stalled. It would crank, but would not fire up. As of now, I've swapped the spark plugs which were god awful. I thought I had fixed the issue because I took it for a test drive and it drove fine for a couple miles. It honestly was way more responsive than I've ever experienced since owning the car. But unfortunately, the same issue reoccurred as I was doing my errands. I've done a smoke test to check for any leaks, checked the coil packs (they look fine), replaced the fuel filter/sending unit, cleaned the injectors, and am in the process of rebuilding my DISA and VANOS. I feel like it could be the CCV or one of the tubes.

Here are the codes that I pulled:
P0172 (System Too Rich (Bank 1))
P0175 (System Too Rich (Bank 2))
P0430 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2))
P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1))
P0335 (Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit)
P0102 (Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input)
P0365 (Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit (Bank 1))

If anyone has any recommendations, please feel free to DM me or drop them below. Thank you!

You got a lot going on there, buddy. What brand fuel and octane do you use?

I thought you might have had a dirty sensor but you're not using cheap fuel (good). More so seems like you have a faulty sensor.

Yeah, nah. I think I'm good on that part, but I'm stumped on what else it could be. My car no longer fires up anymore.

You have multiple issues going on. How long was it misfiring. Your crankshaft and camshaft sensor needs to be addressed. This is why you can't start it. I would start by physically looking at the crankshaft area to ensure your oil filter housing is not leaking enough to damage it. If so it needs to be replaced with an OEM. The 2 sensors are the only thing that will prevent the car from starting that's on the list. If you did a smoke test why do you think it's the CCV? seems the car is lacking maintenance and it has come to a head. Focus on the 2 sensors and once it cranks you can address the other codes. You need a proper BMW code reader because right now you're looking at changing out cats with the 420 and 430 codes.

How can you say that when those codes list multiple sensors?
