well you're going to have to be careful some. you cant hit bumps and potholes like with the 16" wheels he has.

and the 172 wheels come in one configuration only, unless you get replicas.

Still on the hunt for wheels/rims, no update to report yet.

New thoughts on the M5Tech front and MTech rear bumper, Noticed some body fitment issues. Hoping to get it resolved at the body shop.
1. Rear MTech bumper's diffuser isn't flush agains the upper part, gaps in the sides. The top of the bumper isn't completely flat, slight bumps potentially due to fitment issues.
2. Front bumper has gaps in the side, and plastic shield inside the grill near the bottom isn't aligned well w/ the lower front bumper.

On another note, the car's iDrive reported a critical failure w/ ABS and to not brake suddenly for about 20 seconds, then went away...

The detailing was great and they have excellent prices on paintwork! I had it done at Kelly's Body Shop in Cockeysville, MD, on York Road.

Updates:
1. I picked up 5 watt AE from Trinity, looks great, but not very visible during the day... At night it totally rocks though.

2. One more update - I left my trunk open for a few hours during the Hurricane Irene storm, how friggin @#$# could I be? I looked out my window at my beauty and there it was wide open to the elements. I ran out there faster than I could say 'honey, make me a sandwich' and checked the rear interior. Luckily it was only slightly damp, the trunk face w/ the license plate holder shielded it well and was carrying quite a bit of water and it all splashed away once I slammed it shut. The interior wheel well was bone dry. Thanks to this forum, I know all the iDrive electronics/battery is back there, and it could have gone much worse....

Hey guys,

Wanted to resurrect this old thread I started about two years back. I was a bright-eyed green-around-the-ears new owner of a used '04 525i.

Since then, I've had my AHL lights stop working on me, headlight lens hazing, transmission slam issues, battery + various electronic glitching issues, trunk wiring harness falling apart, steering clunking, sunroof + front + rear window seals, water in the trunk, and this doesn't include people colliding into me or door dings that keep popping up.

Thanks to this forum, I am more in love with my car than ever.

After the last two months undergoing a nerve-wracking but experimental fix for my transmission slam issue, my car's full vigor has been restored and it drives like a beast.

On a whim, today I decided to tackle the AHL problem that's been plaguing me for the past year. I ran over a bump really hard which resulted in the dreaded blinking "green" light. I pulled the headlight out today and looked for crumbling wiring or other connection issues as per member suggestions found here on this forum. Everything looked fine, so I pulled and re-installed all modules attached to the bottom of the headlight. After restarting the car, my automatic headlights are BACK, and the car's error-free!

I must say thanks to this forum and it's contributors. You guys are the best.

Now, about those rims... I'm still on style 134 rims. Since my car has standard suspension, is getting sport suspension out of the question for me?

[EDIT] Found a few posts regarding H&R Sports + Koni FSD. Is this doable on a non-sport suspension?
