Default 2004 525i Power Steering pump noise.

Hi, my power steering pump is making a a very noisy drone noise I thinks it's shot cuz I remove the serpentine belt to check the pulleys AND EVERYTHING and the problem was that the PS shaft had a lot of play and is noisy when u spin it,I was looking online but they are very expensive around 600 new, anyone know other good options or places where to get the pump at a good price.

Is it the pump or the pulley?

Since a new one cost around $1200 and you found it for around $600 then that is cheap. I would grab it before someone else does. The only other solution is grabbing a used one from the junk yard. Maybe this one is more in your price range. Or if you are mechanically inclined get one from Cardone. The only thing with that is you will have to put it together.
