Hi guys, new to the forum so HI!

I'm hopefully buying an E60 December 2003 530i next week.

The mileage is 100k, I've read that these engines go on for ages, but wondered what your thoughts are?

What things should I be checking on a 100k car? It has FULL service history and the last 4 MOT's have had no advisories.

What things should I be looking/listening for on the car when I go to view/test drive it?

Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance!

Visual inspection around the engine and coolant lines - are there any visible leaks? Has the valve cover gasket been replaced? Does the engine make any unusual noises? How about water pump and thermostat? How does the transmission feel while driving? Has the transmission service (fluid and filter replacement)done? How are the brake rotors? Raise one front wheel and one rear wheel (separately) and check for any suspension related clunks/wobbles.

Thanks mate! Much appreciated! Are there any website checklists I can take with me to tick off?

Are there any known faults with the 3 litre petrol I should check for?

Do you have one mate?

Its the system that alerts you if you are reversing into an object. A parking sensor

if ur in serious doubt about the car.. just get a PPI from a bmw dealer or indy shop b4 u buy.. and if there is anything wrong that isnt major and u can DIY then use those as a way to knock the price down a bit more
