I'll do it; check out my revised reply above. I forgot about your date question when I replied originally.

I got CIP 20.00.00 yesterday. Engine control module got updated (to new s/w). If you look at release note, there is one fix for N52 engine. No problem so far.
What was the fix? Thanks.

I'm sure you cannot play MP3, Ademitt!
Correct. The 04's in NA came with business radios. Not capable of MP3 playback despite software upgrades.

dumb question but what is the "lawyer" screen? I try and avoid lawyers as much as possible! Don't want any in my car!

It's a warning that comes on the idrive at sart up telling you not to use it when the vehicle is in mothion, blah, blah, blah. Basically a cya for BMW so that you cannot sue them if you get into an accident while using idrive.

"Engine juddering/idle speed surging when it is cold. N52 engine."

I don't have this problem but I am in San Diego area.
I feel engine is more "powerful&smooth" after s/w update. It can be purely subjective. I would think new engine control s/w will optimize engine performance a bit as well (I am an embedded s/w guy).

I read it only once so I don't know what it says exactly. Essentially it warns against fiddling with the iDrive functions when driving. BMW hopes to avoid liability if someone has a wreck, or whatever, while trying to figure out how to set things, etc., while in motion.
