Thumbs up

I am curious as to when my car gets here in 1-2 weeks what should be the first thing that I should do? If you have any suggestions please let me know. I was thinking that I should put a good coat of Meguairs wax on it, even thought they hand washed it and detailed it at the dealer. What do you guys think?

I think you should take some pics and post them here.

Seriously...The wax coating that the dealer gave me was attracting all the dust and the car looked dirty without actually being.

Some days later i gave it a pressure wash and all the shine came out.It looked great

Go and buy Maguiars "Hot Wheels" wheel cleaner and Gold Class shampoo, Autoglymn (or equivalent) polish, protector, leather cleaner and protector (if beige leather), tyre blackener / dressing, new sponge, bucket, brush, jet wash, vacuum

I have not tried waxing as I am too lazy and find the Autoglym polish and protector are quick to use and look good enough to me

Don't forget the photos

Alternative is the Car-Lack Polish and Sealant, known as Klasse in the US.

Similar to Autoglym, especially good on Silver cars where you just do not get the visual benefit of multiple wax layers.

Thanks, I was sure that the first thing I would do is wax it and just give it my own personal touch with the detailing, so that is a given. Thanks

A better option to waxing would be to apply a coat of the polymer, RejeX, which will protect as well but much longer than any wax. Rejex works best when applied without any wax underneath.

only problem is that the rejex has to set for 20 minutes but here in germany its cold now and i dont have a garage to let it sit. So that option is out of the question.

Alternative view:

1. Read the manual

or

1. Go for a nice, relaxed drive on a fairly challenging road to learn how the car behaves

Worry about cleaning it when it's dirty!

(shoot - Vern got there first!)
