Hmmm...didn't notice this one. Will have to look now. Thanks.

Another thing I noticed (keep in mind my last CIP was ver. 12.xx now I've got 19.0), the bottom left corner of the screen use to display the vent settings (i.e. how strong the fan would blow towards the windshield, face, and feet). Now, it displays the radio station or CD track #.

Yeah, just found this out.

I guess we're still left with the Pathway lighting on/off and turn signal relay on/off as the only options under 'Lighting'.

I got 19.x last week, but they somehow disabled the bluetooth and also BMW assist. Is that something that they need to enable, or could they have blown my TCU?

There aren't any bars on the antenna under any conditions, where there used to be all the time.

Anyone know about this problem?

Hello KariFi,

I noticed you have Michelin tires.

Are they RF's (and what is the exact brand name) and how do they manage on the crappy Finnish roads?
Eli "veteleek? urissa"? Some Finnish, sorry guys.

I have a heck of an problem with my 245/40 Dunlop RF's!

Hi

I had my 60000 kms service done yesterday, CIP updated to 19.2.

A few quick observations:

Bluetooth compability w/ Nokia 9300 has improved: still no contact book, but when I make a call using phone's pad, the car captures it instantly. Earlier, the call was captured only after answering, which was a bit confusing and a couple of word could be lost from the beginning.? This is really an improvement.

Bmw emergency numbers added

Under "Lights" new selection box "Daylight running lights".

Didn't notice much more. The rear wiper timing still not working, and still no warning of open upper back door (the glass).? Do you other E61 owners have the same bugs?

interesting: I have 19.2 too but with a UK English/French/Spanish langage system (I use Voice recognition in UK english)

Entertainment still has same name: not Audio

I have the Motorola BMW phone and now it has several languages to chose from including Dutch.

I have no "Daylight running lights" submenu; probably for Scandinavia only ?

Same here with the upper back door; still no warning; except you can not set to car on alarm when this part is not closed.

Do not change a running system, especially a Microsoft one. I'm an IT manager so I know what I'm saying

Yeah, no plans to upgrade just yet. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm waiting to see if they are ever able to get the mp3 capability working for pro nav here in the US.

Yes. I had 19.02 installed a couple of weeks ago and RDS started working afterward.

I was just in for an oil change last week and my dealer showed me a letter from BMW stating that a special software upgrade will be available in Dec 2005 to fix the MP3 problem. He also had several letters from lawyers of German clients who are pissed this is not working. Must be bad if Germans are contacting lawyers

He described it to me like this - it will be an update to CIP and not an actual CIP upgrade. The version of CIP does not matter as the MP3 update can be added as a stand alone fix. There was some lost in translation but it sounds like the update will be on a CD or DVD they can just pop into the car to do the update and don't have to actually hook the car up to the service computer. Sounds more cost effective for them to do 1000's of cars this way. Who knows Name: i_dont_know.gif

Also cars manufactured after 9.30.06 are able to play MP3's with Pro NAV according to the letter from BMW.

I've just checked and confirmed that Entertainment still the same when UK English language is selected. But when French is selected, Entertainment has been translated by Audio since with CIP 19, previously, it was translated "Divertissement".

I 've had the "daylight running lights" since CIP 17.
