Are the $180 dealer prep fee and MACO fee (whatever that is) negotiable? I know destination is not.

If there are any BMW salesmen in the Los Angeles area on here, shoot me a PM. Very serious about purchasing a 2008 550i ZSP for $1000-$1500 over invoice.

BMW doesn't charge dealer prep. Are you sure you aren't referencing the training fee? If so, neither that nor MACO is negotiable.

Dealer prep is now showing up on the price lists that BMW provides right after the destination & handling charge. In the past, I think they buried it in the MSRP but now, it's split out.

You could try to negotiate the prep fee but I'm not too sure how you'll fare. Keep in mind that unless you're on top of all rates and charges, the dealer could easily agree to reduce the prep fee but make up the difference somewhere else...

Yeah, except that you were always paying it, you just didn't see it listed...

I just bought a 535xi in the beginning of the month. They charged me $100 for plates and reg NY, (I bought the car in New Jersey), and $150 for documents and processing fees. That's pretty reasonable. I was able to get the car for about $1500 to $2000 over invoice and $2500 lower than msrp. Prep fee OK, MACO fee??????? Don't pay it. Destination $795 must pay. Good luck.

Correct, but I did not pay it. As a matter of fact, my dealer didn't even ask for it. And I have no idea what a maco fee may be. Sounds a bit "fishy".

Are MACO and Deler preparation fee applies to US buyers for Euro delivery?
OR anyone(in USA) who had euro delivery are charged with these?

MACO, BMW local group advertising fee, does not apply to Euro Delivery. I negotiated away the dealer prep fee on my August 07 Euro Delivery 550 sport.

If you lease your Euro Delivery 5 er, you should track down my posts on leasing. BMW dealers in the Chicago area, routinely miscalculate the lease payments on Euro Delivery BMW's. Three years ago BMW FS sent out a memo telling them that Euro Delivery residuals were based upon US MSRP not Euro Delivery MSRP. Here the dealers continue to ignore the memo and price gouge loyal BMW Customers. The difference is several thousand dollars over the life of the lease.

So maco and dealer prep fee not applicable to Euro delvery for US buyers. good.
what about destination fee? what else we pay more for USD compared to ED?
That is a great savings on many ( base price and US state taxes-based on what you pay)
Next time ED for me- invoice + $..... ?
