Well I went in for a couple things recently, SOS broken, wanted 18.1 to improve DS performance, etc. They couldn't fix SOS without replacing the TCU, so that took another day. I must say that DS is exactly ONE MILLION times better than it was previously. It still keep the gear ratio low when accelerating quickly, but unlike before it now upshifts quickly when I let off the pedal. No more embarrassing 4500 RPM stretches while gliding to the grocery store at 35 mph. I haven't yet tested if I actually get 6th gear now on the highway in DS.
So I've now joined the TCU replacement club, at only like 4000 miles. This is not cool. I'm worried about what happens when I go off warranty, they told me that it's around $2000 to swap the TCU off warranty. It HAD BETTER BE more reliable than this.

You're all wrong. Pre-16.2 or so, it never go to 6th in DS, but after having 16.2 installed, DS goes to 6th.
