Hi. Which wheels look better on a silver 550i. the 172's or the 166's.

They both look great... I personally prefer the 166

Ask yourself if you want a more standard, OEM 550i Sport look (172) or something different while still getting a sweet OEM rim like the 166 or 167? Maybe that will help you decide..or not.

Id have to agree with the Dr on that one, even though the 172 looks good, as mentioned its stock 550i sport. Here in Denver you hardly ever see an M5 on the road so the 166 wheel is more rare. Again like everyone else its more about personal choice, I like the 166 for various reasons, but 167 is way sweet too.

My top 4 in order

1) 166
2) 167
3) 128
4) 172

Good luck

Hey Lizard...did you get those 167's yet? If so, where are the damn pics?!
I haven't received them yet but Michelin tires have been ordered all around. Will post pics as as soon as everything is set - hopefully by next weekend. Garry said the wheels should be at my house on Monday.

The M166 and M167 and made for the M5/M6 models with wrong ET's for the rest of the E60 model series.

The M172's have the right ET's for all other E60 models (520-550).

But I just love the M166's...

Put 172s on one side and 166s on the other.

I had one person PM me to let me know of the approx value of the 172's with brand new rubber but curious what you think a fair price would be to both parties involved?

I agree. The 166s are nice, but they look much better on an actual M5, IMO. The only thing I don't like about the 172s is that because the tire sidewalls are so thin, from a distance they look like wagon wheels.
