Well, it took 16 months but I finally did what I've been dreading! Yes, nicked a kerb on my front nearside 172!!

So, anyone recommend a repair service (UK Only) that they're used...? Need to get it fixed back to A1! What were the results like?

Thanks!

I live in Warwick and used a mobile outfit called Alloy Xpress. They repaired an 18" M Sport 135 which I dinged mounting the kerb to let a police car past. They charged ?35 cash (lose the VAT) and did a perfect job. They needed to grid out the fracture, fill and re-laquer about a 1 1/2" section.

I dont have the number but you should be able to look them up on the web.

Been there, done that!!

I used Wicked Wheels only last week to get one of my badly scuffed 172's sorted.

It took him 2 hours and the results are amazing! They bake the wheels too, not UV light!!

My guy charged ?60 plus the dreaded VAT but I think it was worth every penny.

Give your local repairer a call.

I kerbed two of my 172's within a month of buying the car but have yet to get them repaired. I'm in Cambridge and ELM's BMW use an approved BMW body, alloy and general paint repair mobile service at ?75 per alloy who visit their premises. However, I was also informed by BMW that the warranty that applies to the alloys would become void and only the repair warranty would apply, that too only for a year. Not really sure what the BMW warranty covers for an alloy but am hesitant to wipe that out and get only a years repair warranty instead.

Mind you, if I were to get Wicked Wheels or similar to sort me out, how's BMW going to know what I've had done to the alloys??

Anyway, my sorrow currently continues...

No suggestions, but just wanted to tell you that I puked a little bit in my mouth for you. Been there before - its such a sickening feeling.

Hope the repairs go easily.

If its any consolation - My Previous M3 on 19" wheels was a magnet for kerbs!

The E60 is a bit more forgiving!

Sorry to hear

The best thing to do is to buy a new rim.

After that do a wheel lining and check that nothing else got damaged (tyre, steering, brakes, rods etc.)
