I am assuming the 167 wheels also come with two offsets...so that they can be put on the 5 chassis? I can order these with the same wheel measurements you mentioned above??

The bigger the wheel size i.e. 19 vs. 18 the less the amount of tire between the wheel rim and the road. If you have lots of potholes and have that concern you may want to stick to a 18 in wheel so you have more cushion and protection against damaging your wheels.

There's not much of an differance between 285 vs. 275/30's but why go for the 285's when BMW recommends the 275's?

The 285/30 19's are 2053 MM in diameter while the original 275/35 18's are 2041 MM thats only .59% off of original.
275/30 19's work out to be 1948.35 MM that is 4.77% off of original.
The cars intelligence will be more off by the 275/19's than the 285/19's by over 4%. The 285's are almost exactly the same diameter as the 275/18's.
The only issue would be the wider tire which doesn't rub in the wheel well anyway.
What other ratios and intelligence are you talking about here?
