does this work? im looking at a used set with winter tires on them but will a 16" rim even fit on my 550i (2006)?
supposedly they are from an e60 525 |
Na buddy dont think soo. The car comes with 18 stock. Why would you wanna go so small it would take away from the vehicles ride performance. A 550 is not a rice burner. Oh and you cant go too big either the weight of the rims put a strain on the tranny. I'm just saying!

16s will not clear the front brake calipers. some 17s will.

the "upstate" is for upstate, NY - being from brooklyn you know how bad it gets over here. Right now she's wearing a 19" setup (166's) with W rated summer tires - they arent going to do me a lot of good when the snow falls. i know ill need a smaller rim, winter-only tires, and serious a feather-foot to get me through nov->march I have to assume a 17" would fit right? am I seriously limited to 18's at the smallest?

Even with 17's and snow tires the car would not be able to drive in aot of accumulated snow. Its a rear wheel 4.8 V8.. |

17" OEM from any e60 should do the trick right?
or should i just buy an old quattro for 2k? the non-sports pkg 550s came with 17s. not a problem. |
