My Ride: 2005 - 545 - tit silver/grey/sport/premsound/nav/cold weather pkg/ hardwire valetine/clear bra/4700k fog bulbs - acs fron and rear spoiler, r10's radenergies with michelin ps2 - 275/30 - 275/35 - aux audio, v 18.xx
I just had my 2/04 upgraded from 13.2 to 16.0 they are telling me - if I go in fo rth e16.2 will I get different Nav maps and such?

I got my upgrade yesterday and everything seems to be there except the ability to play MP3's. I wonder if that is not yet available in the US. Also still doesn't seem to be able to pick up RDS information, which is a known software issue in iDrive with the Nav system in the US. Perspective view is a nice touch - works in the smaller window on the right as well.

Here is how to find out what your CIP and decode it:
Push down i-Drive knob for about 8 sec
Turn right 3 clicks
Turn left 3 clicks
Turn right 1 click
Turn left 1 click

I did as you requested - found a screen similar to the above. Each line item seems to be a different software 'module'. The top module has a notation 'Functional Software Version' = 5.177.001. Each module has it's own software code but that seems to be the top level 'version'.
As I said, the upgrade seems to have upgraded the nav system, but I don't see much else different.
RDS still doesn't work and it doesn't recognize MP3 CD's - at least not in the CD drives. Haven't tried the DVD drive.
