Hi Guys,

so it has been 2,5 years since I drove last with runflats - in winter i have a set of 19" with 245s and in summer, also 19" but with 275s in the rear - both no runflats. Since my car is being sold tomorrow (without the 19"), i mounted the original 18" runflats on my car and have been driving with them since yesterday evening. Here my thoughts:
- The car is exactly as hard/soft as it was with the 19" wheels
- The car tends to "swim" quite a bit, although i have only been driving int eh city. It is an uncomfy feeling if the steering dictactes randomly in which direction the car will be moving..

The runflats are from 2005. I assume there is a newer generaiton by now and I hope they have made some progress. With the wheels that i have mounted now, I am glad that I am getting rid of the car tomorrow I am also glad that the buyer (ex audi a8 dirver) did not test drive the car with these wheels..

And as of tomorrow, I will be a passive member of the forum till my new car arrives

greetings from vienna

So what will you drive in the future? Isn't this nova tax annoying in Austria?

What did you drive 2007 (you profile)

Yes indeed - the nova is pretty bad and with the CO2 driven nova as of july, it will be worse..

I have ordered a new 5 series LCI - a fully loaded 520dA I get the best of both worlds - economical car, environmental friendly and also a 5 series!

I have now had my 535d for nearly an year, prior to that i had a 530d (e60) - so this will be my third e6x in the last 12 months

I guess you'll be using the 19" on the new car. Just been in Austria for 2 month, where do you find cars and parts for sale? bazar.at, kijiji.at or.....?

Why do you go from 535d to 520d, the loss of a <1year car must mean many km to compensat for the fuel concumption?

I get all my stuff from germany - i have a tireshop in bayern (day trip from vienna to pick up the stuff), or alternatively in the Ruhrgebiet in Germany - i have the tires sent from there, costs about 80 EUR. Apart from that, toher parts i just get over ebay...

Oh trust me - i am making such a loss, I am even paying EUR 14000 to do the downsizing. I dont do that many miles but these reasons influenced my decision:
* better range than my 535d - instead of the 530 km, i am expecting about 800-900 km with the 520d
* new automatic - the old automatic i had on my 535d was not pleasant to drive, specially in the city, where it would just general rev high
* more environmental friendly

I hope this is my last car i buy for a while
