That sucks.
But I bet it looked really funny to anyone standing nearby.
I had the quintessential $1,000.00 dinner a few weeks ago. Took the girl who lives next door to dinner; we had a couple bottles of Veuve Clicquot (I use the word "couple" loosely, we had one at my house and two at dinner); and, when we arrived home, I rammed the 545 straight into a pile of logs. Smooth move. Needless to say, I ended up sleeping alone.
Veuve: $60.00
Dinner and more Veuve: $250.00
BMW repairs: $700.00
Thousand dollar dinner.
But I bet it looked really funny to anyone standing nearby.

Massive downer. Of course this has nothing to do with the store. You ran into a stationary object and must claim individual responsibility. Although the lack of adequate state of repair of the parking block was a contributing factor, and it was reasonable that you would not see it, you hit it. Individual accountability is important because insurance claims are spread to consumers over the cost of products.
Throw a few bucks at the situation and it will be as good as new. Good luck on the repair.

I pulled into a walgreens pharmacy to purchase a bottle of cold water and visit the washroom, its South Florida hot weather time.
After my pit stop, I jump back into the Bimmer and pull out of my space, when I hear this awful sound from the front of my car, yes it's my bumper being pulled off.
One of the metal rebar spikes that hold the parking bumpers to the ground was sticking up about 6" and It just ripped the front spoiler and bumper out, shit was I pissed.
I go into the store fetch the manager and show him what just happened, the guy was really sympathetic and when I explained that I just visited his store to use the facilities and purchase a bottle of water, this guy says" Wow thats an expensive bottle of water" I have a sense of humor and had to laugh. Oh well the car was still driveable, but it's getting fixed Monday, I can't look at her this way.
Walgreens Insurance might pay they will let me know in a few weeks, either way I'm not calling my insurance for this, just another expensive day of driving. Whats amazing is I never heard that spike hit the bottom of the car. Bummer
